Everybody To The Limit!
Well, thanks to a commenter from my previous blog entry, I'm now officially strung out on Homestar Runner. There is just WAY to much stuff to do and see on that site. Who needs sleep? My boss will understand if I stay home tomorrow, right??
I am so happy to now know what fhqwhgads is AND to know how to correctly pronounce and spell it (see BooOOmbox Easter Egg in the "sibbie" SB email). Oh, and now I can sing about it too.
This is a good one I found about radio personalities.
Does anyone know why I can't do anything pleasurable without getting all OCD about it? I might should have that looked at....hmm....

Ode to The Friday 5

When it was still active, The Friday 5 was something I used to look forward to. The questions weren't always great, but I liked the concept well enough and I remember having a lot of fun with it.
So for today's blog, I thought I'd go ahead and pay tribute to the now defunct Friday 5 with my own set of Friday 5 questions (and answers):
1. What is your favorite 80s video game character....and WHY??
'Squish' from Space Invaders on the Atari 5200. I named her Squish because she just looked like a little blue washcloth that bounced back and forth as she did her little Space Invaders march across the screen. So Cute!!
2. What was your most recent music purchase....and WHEN??
I believe it was Naturally, by Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings. SO good!! Oh, when?? crap...like maybe 4 months ago. Could it really have been that long?? Man, time is flying - I need to buy some music. I am about to get some Two Star Symphony, but I haven't yet. I do zero online music stuff, which is shocking I know, but true - so since most of you are all into that, I expect that your answers will be much more recent. :)
3. What was the last thing you ate yesterday....and WHERE did you eat it?
Razzleberry pie, warmed, with vanilla ice-cream.....where?!?! ugh, what a lame thing to ask, ok fine, I ate it at my desk, in front of the computer.
4. What is your most favorite sci-fi technological device/ability?
Ok,"most favorite" is too hard to answer....Oh!! I know a good one! I loved that little computerized pen thingie that the receptionist in Total Recall used to color her fingenails. Nanotechnology rules!!
5. What was the coolest project you ever did in school (grade or college)? I'm looking for things like science fair, college of engineering robotics, or cool art projects, etc... (tangible results)
I never did any great science fair stuff (wish I had), but I had this really cool art class in high school in which I made a brass and copper keychain. We were able to cut free form patterns out of a sheet of copper and a sheet of brass with a jigsaw - then we sanded and filed the edges smooth, soldered them together and then finally polished them. Mine was SO RAD and I am STILL mad about the fact that I lost it. :(

I know I've mentioned it once, but it really needs to be mentioned again....

This makes me very happy.

Warm-fuzzies, Tatooine, Brushes with Greatness, and CMOS
I just brewed a half pot of chickory coffee and made toast in my new kitchen. Yes, I've lived here for two weeks but this is really the first food preparation I've done. I know, I know....but as many of you already know, things are very strange around here when the kids are away. :(
It is so very wonderful to once again have, *good* coffee, jewish rye toast with orange marmalade and grapefruit juice! Yay Jamie food!!
Btw, this is not the blog entry I had originally envisioned. The blog entry I wanted to make has basically already been made by a certain friend of mine. Early bird gets to blog about the cool space news, too bad for me. So rather than me taking time to write my own entry about it, I have instead opted to just furnish you with a link to his entry. I am ALL about efficiency. :P
Oh!!! And get this!! Jay Lee the radio show host, the newspaper columnist and the famous folk musician posted an ultracool streaming audio link of an interview he did in 1988 with DOUGLAS ADAMS!!! Click here for the link. Very cool.
I am very interested to see what the date on this entry posts as since the CMOS battery in my computer has gone bad. Oughtta be good for a laugh, let's see............
EDIT: Oh, n/m, I bet it pulls the date from the server's clock rather than mine. But let's keep in mind that I am not exactly the authority on how all of this stuff works, I just *wish* I were. However if I have now piqued your interest, my clock says that it is 8:23 PM April 11, 2003.

P A R T Y ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

I am so excited about tomorrow that I am about to hurl.
How's that for a blog opener??? No REALLY though, I am. Which, unfortunately for you, means that you are going to have to endure mucho punctuation marks to get through this blog entry.
Tomorrow is the 10 year anniversary party for Technology Bytes, my most favoritest radio show ever!!!!.....the _end _all, _be _all Geek Gathering.....a room full of groovy geeks!!!!!!!!! How much does that rule?!?!?!? It is going to be a such the major blast!!
Check this out for more background info on the show....from the ABC.com Tech Report. Nice.
Now I know you are thinking that it can't get any better, but you are obviously clueless because it SO gets better....are you sitting? You might even need a shot of whiskey to counter the effect this news may have on you...go ahead, I'll wait.........
Ready?
Ok. Drop Trio is going to be playing there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HOLY.
CRAP!
:)
Everybody reading this blog better be at Kaveh Kanes tomorrow night - otherwise, I'll be forced to ban your IP address from reading my blog in the future. I'm sorry, but I do not make the rules. (why do I have the strangest feeling that this is going to backfire on me??)
I'll be the one with Han Solo over my heart, right where he has always been and will always be. He and Chewy are going to be my dates.

And the house is named....
Behold:

After I spent ENTIRELY too much time thinking about it, I had the brilliant idea to enlist the kiddos for help. So the house name ended up being more about being fun and catchy than fraught with profundity. I think we made the right choice.
