Read This Blog Entry, You Will
***I don't think I put any SPOLIERS in this but you better just read it to make sure :P - like, who else in the world hasn't seen it....really....
Finally I saw Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. It was a million kinds of great and then some.
My Comments:
-I remembered at one point having the thought: "Watching any of these characters battle is kinda pointless, since we already know who lives and who dies." W-R-O-N-G. All of the lightsaber battles ruled.
-Yoda is a badass. For some reason in the past two episodes I have really enjoyed watching Yoda BE a badass.
-My one and only complaint: Where in the hell was young Han Solo? I remember being a wee girl and learning of the Star Wars Nonology from my righteously sci-fi adoring father. I remember thinking way back then (I'm guesstimating the time frame to have been somehwere in the very early 80s, as in, before I was even a teenager) how cool it was going to be to one day see the younger Han Solo. I mean I understood that his role wouldn't have had much significance before episode 4, but still I just KNEW that George Lucas would find a way to bring him in for fun cameo appearance or something like that. (Okay - so I read all of the crap everyone has said on the internet about how lame putting him in RotS would be, but none of you losers understands my affection for Han. So bite me. And yes, now that I am 30 (ish), being sad about not seeing the 6?/10? year old version of this most excellent hottie is kinda twisted, but I was 10 myself when I had originally gotten my heart set on it, so neener.)
-The movie tied nicely into episode 4 and it even caused me to get a little choked up there at the end. Especially the scene where Uncle Owen is looking out at the twin sunset on Tatooine. Hard to explain why, but it did...
I just found this muy excelente review of RotS written by Kevin Smith. It is LOADED with spoilers, but he totally captured my feelings about this movie, so if you are interested, read it.
Not only did the movie rule, but *where* I saw it was equally awesome. I made my first visit (of many to come) to The Alamo Drafthouse...thank you Terry. Have you ever been there? It is the greatest place ever! If you haven't, let me give you the quick overview of what it is all about: It is a movie theater in which you can order food , alcohol, candy, desserts, coffee, etc. and you have a nice table in front of you to put your edibles on, and pa-lenty of room around you to get in and out of your seats. It is clean, comfortable, nice staff, etc...there is just nothing bad about it as far as I could tell. I am so excited that my new house will only be about 15 minutes away from it!!
Okay. Done blogging, I am.
