Unsettling
Unsettling Dream #1: My son with a badly broken arm -
Last night I had a dream that my little boy fell off of some playground equipment and broke his arm. I spent the duration of the dream screaming about needing to get him to the doctor, but somehow never made it to one before the dream was over.
This is not that surprising when you take into account that yesterday, in actuality, he got hurt pretty badly at the park. He ran full speed into a horizontal 8" - 10" diameter pipe with his face. Everything at that park is painted brown which seems to kinda camouflage the equipment, so he didn't even see it. His cheek swelled up ENORMOUSLY at first and then I got the swelling down with an ice pack we had in the lunch box we took for our picnic. Today he just has a slightly swelled cheek consisting of 57 bruisey colors. He is waiting for the green. Green is his favorite. Pobrecito. :(
Anyway, the dream was unsettling. I have vivid recall of his gimpy arm that was just dangling at impossible angles because of being broken. ::shudder::
Unsettling Dream #2: Someone is trying to kill me (and the DWM chicas) -
Then I had another dream last night in which Roland from the Dark Tower was trying to kill me and the other two Dan Workman gals. We were very stealthy though and he never did catch us although it was action-packed with tons of close calls. It was a lot like an action movie...hmmm, now that I think about it, it really was like that. Coool.
It was very long, highly detailed, and I remember every freaky second of it.
The weirdest part was this one time when Roland was chasing and very close to catching me (I was by myself at that moment as the other DWM girls and I had agreed to split up and employ the 'divide and conquer' method) - all of a sudden he turned into a length of metal chain rope. He wasn't able to be very threatening as the rope, and I took that as an opportunity to grab him (as a metal chain) and smack him against the ground as hard as I could. Over and over again. I figured that as long as I kept smacking him against the ground (still in chain form) that he'd never be able to switch back into a predatory human again. So I had to keep at it. It was very tiring, but I was happy that I was "winning" this particular battle against evil.
I've said too much, haven't I?? Oh yeah right. Like YOU don't have weird dreams.
Puh-leeeez. :P

I too have had some strange dreams the past couple of nights. The most vivid dream involved me being in NYC (never been) with my brother, who in my dream was Don Johnson (go figure) and being in some kind of hotel room with no bathroom except for a communal bathroom down the hall, all the while people play cards outside my door and the room is infested with roaches. Then taking a boat ride down a water market where ocean tankers were being unloaded by workers who were guarded by guys with M-16's and ending up in a public water garden.
I have no clue. Our brains are amazing things.
